i've come across a few interesting things in my internet travels over the years and thought i'd post about a couple of them that are especially cool and have popped up a bit lately:

Pandora :: a very cool site/application that chooses music and creates playlists suggesting tracks based on your favourite bands. i'm discovering all sorts of new treats through it and am sort of amazed that it even exists, it's so good. note: after a wee trial, it will ask you to sign up and says it is only available to US citizens but the only way it verifies this is by zip code - i used the old standard 90210 and it signed me up just fine.

Threadless :: submit an original t-shirt design here and if enough people vote for it, it may just get printed. this limited run, indie designed online t-shirt shop has some VERY cool options and very reasonable pricing. i ordered one for shane a few years ago, very good quality and speedy, cheap shipping.

Tiny Showcase :: an online gallery that prints a limited edition run of 100 prints by that week's chosen artist, i've seen some beautiful stuff here. again, the prices seem pretty good to me and it's a great chance to get exposure to new artists's work.


and last but most importantly of all, a big happy birthday to my best buddy, leigh wallace! although it's march 3rd in australia, it's march 2nd in canada and thus wallace is probably celebrating her thirtieth year with a big old pint of grasshopper right now. happy birthday my dear old friend, i will raise a glass with you and sarah in may.
